How to start a Battle

To begin a battle, locate the “Start Battle” button in the top menu of the site, or find it in the menu on the top left corner on mobile. This will take you to the “Start Battle” page where you can begin setting up your battle.

The process is the same on both computer and mobile. Let’s go through the steps together:

Battle Pack 

Select the battle pack for your game. Whether you’re using Spearhead, the General’s Handbook or any of the other packs, you’ll find all supported packs in the dropdown menu.

Scenario 

Depending on your chosen battle pack, various battle plans will appear in the dropdown menu. You can also use the dice icon to the right to have Milarki choose a random battle plan for you!

Place 

This setting lets you immerse yourself in the Milarki narrative by selecting a location within our setting, Meridia. While optional, it’s a great way to insert yourself into Meridia’s unique story.

Battle Size 

Choose the points limit for your game using standard buttons, or click the +/- buttons on the right to adjust in increments of 50. You can also manually enter a number by clicking the field and typing in your desired points.

Date

The default date is today, but if you’re logging a previous game, simply click the calendar icon to select the correct date. If you choose a different date than 'today' your game will not be considered live.

When finished, press Continue to proceed to the next setup page.

On this page, you’ll select the army you’ll be playing with. There are three options:

Saved Armies

If you’ve created armies in Milarki, they’ll be listed here.

Select one of the army cards by clicking on it, then click Next.

Previously Played

Your last three played armies will appear in this list for easy selection if you switch between multiple armies. Simply click select and then Next to proceed.

Manual Setup

You can either paste an army list from the Age of Sigmar app or manually select your faction and battle formation. By adding a list you copy paste your army list into the textbox that appears. After pasting, Milarki will parse the list and identify your faction and formation.

After making your selection, press Next.

In this step, you’ll select your opponent. The dropdown will list recent opponents, or you can start typing to search by name or email. If there are multiple players with similar names, you can narrow your search by location.

Once you’ve selected your opponent, it’s time to choose their army. You’ll have the same options here as you did for your own army: select from their previously played armies, paste a list, or choose manually by faction and formation. Don’t worry—you can always make changes after the battle if needed.

When everything is set, you’re ready to start the battle. Have fun, and good luck!
